​Purpose of the Position

The Nursery Attendant provides a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for infants and young children (newborn through kindergarten) during Sunday morning worship services. The Nursery Attendant is responsible for supervising children, meeting their basic needs, and creating a positive experience for both children and parents.

Hours

• Sundays, September through September

•  9:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

Reports To 

• Head Usher, Nursery Coordinator and /or President of Consistory

​

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide care and supervision for children, newborn through kindergarten.

• Welcome children and assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment.

• Attend to children's basic needs, diapering, toileting assistance, and comforting children.

• Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as reading, playing games, and other supervised activities.

• Communicate with parents regarding their child's care during the nursery session.

• Maintain a clean and orderly nursery before leaving each Sunday.

• Report concerns regarding children, equipment, or supplies to the appropriate church representative.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working with infants and young children.

• Dependable, punctual,  responsible and maintain a clean, professional appearance.

• Able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and church leadership.

• Able to perform the physical activities associated with caring for young children, including lifting, bending, and sitting on the floor.

• Willing to comply with all church policies and applicable Pennsylvania requirements.

Compensation 

• Compensation and work schedule will be determined by the Consistory and communicated at the time of hire.
